Founder’s Associate

Full-time

Helsinki, Finland

Deadline: Rolling

About Ambio

Ambio is an AI-driven physical commodity trader on a mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable materials. This mission is progressing fast in our primary domain, recycled plastics.

We work closely with 100+ industrial manufacturers in the Nordics and DACH region through the full procurement cycle, making sustainable material options the obvious choice, not the hard one. Our agentic trading technology and the widest material selection in Europe got us here. We are building a world where recycled materials are the default, and Ambio is the market that makes them flow

We’re a diverse team of traders, operators, polymer engineers, and software developers across Helsinki, Berlin, and Stockholm, with funding from, e.g., Lifeline Ventures.

Position

The Founder’s Associate is a generalist, high-leverage role for someone who wants to see how a fast-growing startup is actually built and to own the problems that fall between defined functions.

You will work directly with the CEO on whatever matters most that week: commercial, operational, financial, and strategic. Some projects you will hand off once they are running. Others will become your permanent responsibility.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the problems that matter but fall between teams.

  • Work alongside sales, supply, finance, and product on their biggest priorities, wherever an extra hand or a second brain moves things forward fastest.

  • Turn our data and spreadsheets into clear answers.

  • Prepare board decks, investor updates, and internal materials together with the CEO.

  • Build the playbooks the company scales on, run them until they work, and then hand them off to the team that owns them long term.

  • Go wherever the leverage is. In a startup, that changes from week to week, and you should enjoy that.

To excel in this role, we believe the ideal candidate:

  • Takes initiative, drives things forward without waiting for instructions, and turns ideas into action even when everything is not fully defined.

  • Is AI-native by default, uses AI tools every day, and can point to at least one tool, automation, or product they’ve created themselves.

  • Has a strong will to build, improve our company, and grow with it.

  • Is excited to face new things daily and open to jumping into new things, meeting new people, and building relationships with them.

  • Likes to work with and talk to people, can communicate effectively, and can make our partners laugh and love working with us.

  • Learns new things quickly, doesn’t hesitate in the face of uncertainty, and adapts to situations.

  • Can work independently and take full ownership of their work.

  • Can keep their head cool and move forward steadily even when adversity or problems arise.

What we offer

  • A high-agency and values-driven culture: Join a team that runs towards problems, is serious about the work and relaxed about everything else, and pairs high ambition with zero ego. We focus on solving real customer problems exceptionally well; accelerating the transition to sustainable materials happens as a by-product.

  • A market being built right now: Every major commodity had its moment when someone built the market it trades on. For recycled plastics, that moment is now, and we are the ones to build it.

  • Feedback and mentorship that move you forward: You work side by side with the CEO, so feedback is frequent, direct, and meant to help you grow.

  • See what building a company really looks like: Work as the hands-on consultant inside the company, sitting in the same discussions as the founders. You own real problems, and your initiatives shape how we operate.
