Investment Intern

Are you curious about Private Equity, investing, and active ownership? Altor is looking for an Investment Intern to join our Helsinki team for a full-time internship, based at our Stockholm office.

As an Investment Intern at Altor, you will become an integral part of our investment team and work closely with experienced investment professionals across the full investment process. You will gain hands-on exposure to evaluating new investment opportunities, supporting live deal processes, and working on strategic projects together with Altor portfolio companies.

About the job

As an Investment Intern, you will support the investment team across a wide range of tasks, including:

• Researching and evaluating potential investment opportunities across different industries and markets

• Supporting deal teams in live acquisition and divestment processes, including market research, financial analysis, preparation of materials, and participation in meetings with investment banks, consulting firms and other advisors

• Supporting deal teams in various strategic projects and related analyses together with Altor portfolio companies

• Performing financial and commercial analyses, including benchmarking, industry analysis and competitor analysis

• Supporting investment teams with valuation, financial statement analysis and modelling work

You will work in small teams and get close exposure to both investment processes and active ownership of medium-sized companies across a wide range of industries.

Your profile

We are looking for a student with outstanding academic credentials. Ideally, you are currently in your third year of a Bachelor’s programme, in a Master’s programme, or in one of the final three years of a five-year programme. You ideally have experience from a previous internship at an investment bank, management consulting firm, private equity, or another analytical environment.

We believe you will thrive in this role if you:

• Have strong analytical and technical skills, including financial statement analysis, valuation and financial modelling

• Are detail-oriented and comfortable working with both quantitative and qualitative analysis

• Have strong commercial understanding and a genuine interest in investing, businesses and developing companies

• Are proactive, energetic, self-driven and curious

• Enjoy working in teams and contributing in a collaborative, high-performing environment

• Are fluent in English and ideally proficient in one or more Nordic languages
