About A. Ahlström

Building on a 175-year legacy, A. Ahlström is a long-term industrial owner focused on the Forest & Fiber and Environmental Technology sectors. In addition to its industrial ownership, Ahlström invests in financial assets, real estate and forestry. Our mission is to create a better world for future generations through sustainable value creation.

About the Role

We are looking for an Investment Associate to join our investment team. This is a broad analytical role combining recurring portfolio reporting and preparation of board materials with financial analysis and project-based work across industrial, real estate and forest investments as well as financing.

You will also participate in investment cases and transaction processes. The role suits someone early in their career who wants to understand how a long-term industrial owner operates and is comfortable combining analytical project work with recurring reporting and practical preparation tasks.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare monthly portfolio reporting by updating portfolio company figures, compiling commentary and finalising presentation and board materials.

  • Produce financial analyses, company reviews, valuations and financial models for investment cases, portfolio companies, financing and development projects.

  • Support the building of the investment pipeline and participate in due diligence processes.

  • Provide analytical support to our real estate and forestry teams, including valuation models, reporting and ad hoc financial reviews.

  • Work closely with the investment team, Group CFO, CEO, and portfolio company representatives.

What We Are Looking For

You are an early-career professional with relevant experience from transaction services, corporate finance, investment banking or another role involving financial analysis and modelling.

We expect you to have:

  • Strong Excel skills and a solid understanding of the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement, including how they connect.

  • Practical experience in financial modelling. Experience in valuation is an advantage.

  • The ability to prepare clear and accurate presentations and financial materials.

  • A proactive and organised approach to work, with the ability to manage several tasks and meet agreed deadlines with high quality output.

  • A flexible attitude towards both recurring reporting responsibilities and project-based assignments.

  • The ability to work independently and drive things forward while collaborating with different teams and stakeholders.

  • Genuine interest in industrial companies and value creation through active ownership.

  • Fluency in Finnish and English. Swedish is considered an advantage.

Please describe your experience in financial modelling and valuation in your application.

What We Offer

  • A broad view of investments, portfolio companies, financing, real estate, forestry and group-level decision-making.

  • Clearly defined recurring responsibilities alongside varied analytical and development projects.

  • The opportunity to broaden your responsibilities over time based on performance, business needs and your interests.

  • Close collaboration within a small team and across the organisation.

  • An entrepreneurial and flexible working environment guided by Ahlström’s values of Ambition and Responsibility.

Application

Please submit your application by Sunday, 30 August 2026. Applications will be reviewed and interviews conducted on a rolling basis.
